DiMora Motorcar Hosts Wheelchair Athlete on Coast-to-Coast Odyssey

Gabriel Cordell sees Vicci 6.2 prototype

Palm Springs, California – April 16, 2013 – Twenty years ago, a devastating car accident cost Gabriel Cordell the use of his legs. Paralyzed from the waist down, he suffered years of depression and succumbed to several damaging addictions.

Nine months ago he decided to turn his life around. He began intensive training to become the first person to manually push his standard wheelchair from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean. By conquering this grueling challenge, the 43-year-old athlete hopes to inspire anyone who feels stuck in a bad situation, handicapped or not, and wants to pull out of it, as he has.

On April 1, Gabe set out from Santa Monica on his 3,300-mile coast-to-coast journey.

His route on the fourth day led through Palm Springs, where Gabe pushed himself into the DiMora Motorcar factory. There he inspected the first prototype of the company’s Vicci 6.2 series of neoclassic luxury automobiles. He wanted to learn how this fusion of 21st-century technology with classic 1930's elegance and flair is defining a new niche in the American and global automobile markets.

Gabe hopes to reach his destination, his hometown of West Hempstead, New York, by June 14, in time to participate in his 25th High School Reunion. A television camera crew is accompanying him throughout the journey to document this record-setting feat.
